Taylor Swift, the Grammy Award Music Superstar, turned 33 today, December 13th, and a heart warming news followed.

Two songwriters who had accused Taylor Swift of stealing their lyrics for her 2014 No. 1 hit Shake It Off have dropped their complaint.

Taylor Swift’s popularity is huge, and owns a global fan base, with chart-topping singles such as You Belong With Me, I Knew You Were Trouble, and many more.

Taylor Swift, who announced last week that she’s directing her first feature film for Searchlight Pictures, may hope to emulate. She’s already achieved too many career milestones to count, but her direction of “All Too Well: The Short Film,” a 15-minute movie that’s been viewed more than 80 million times on YouTube, represents a step in a new direction for the Grammy-winning artist who has dominated pop culture since the late 2000s.

The film follows the story of one of her most beloved songs, the most-discussed track from 2021’s re-recorded album “Red (Taylor’s Version).” Fans who’d already loved “All Too Well,” devoured the saga of a 21-year-old woman (Sadie Sink) and her heartbreak over a relationship with an older man (Dylan O’Brien), and parsed all of Swift’s sorrowful and carefully chosen details.

In the copyright case which has now been dropped Sean Hall and Nathan Butler informed a federal judge in Los Angeles that they would dismiss their 2017 case with prejudice, which prevents a re-filing.

The case’s trial of Taylor Swift was slated to start in January 2023.

Swift and the songwriters’ legal counsel filed court documents on Monday, but they did not mention whether a settlement had been reached. Requests for more information were not immediately answered by representatives of the parties.

In Shake It Off, Swift sings: “The players gonna play, play, play, play, play, and the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate.”

Swift told the court in August that she had never heard 3LW’s song before writing Shake It Off. She said she had heard the phrases “players gonna play” and “haters gonna hate” used commonly to “express the idea that one can or should shrug off negativity.”

“With Shake It Off, I wanted to provide a comedic, empowering approach to helping people feel better about negative criticism through music, dance, and the personal independence enabling one to just shake off the negative criticism,” she said.

Swift had previously ruled out the notion that she had heard the 3LW song when it was first released, claiming that her parents had forbidden her from watching MTV’s Total Request Live when she was a young child and that the 3LW hit only became popular when she was 10 years old.

Swift’s mother, Andrea Swift, also filed a statement saying that she “carefully monitored both the television [Swift] watched and the music she heard”.

Hall and Butler had argued that the lyrics were too close for their similarity to be a coincidence. They had asked for an unspecified amount of damages.

In 2009, Taylor Swift appeared on “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.” Her character Haley Jones was murdered. Taylor Swift appeared as a teenager on CSI as a guest star. She appeared in the drama series’ ninth season, in the 16th episode titled “Turn, Turn, Turn.”

Taylor Swift has written songs for Calvin Harris and Little Big Town, among others. Taylor Swift wrote “Better Man” and presented it to Little Big Town. Swift wrote “You’ll Always Find Your Way Back Home” for Miley Cyrus. Furthermore, Kellie Pickler and Swift collaborated on the song “Best Days of Your Life.” Swift also contributed to Sugarland’s song “Babe.”
