Mahira’s manager, Anushay Talha Khan, shared the joyous news on her Instagram Stories, sharing a video of the radiant “Raees” star gracefully making her way down the aisle.
The intimate ceremony was graced by close friends and family in the serene resort town of Bhurban, highlighting the couple’s affection for keeping their special day a private affair.
Mahira Khan, who was previously married to Ali Askari from 2007 to 2015 and shares a 13-year-old son named Azlaan with him, found love again in Salim Karim. The couple met in 2017 and subsequently got engaged in 2019 while in Turkiye.
In the past, Mahira Khan, along with several other Pakistani actors, faced adversity when they were threatened by the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) to leave India following the Uri Attack in 2016. The MNS issued a 48-hour ultimatum for Pakistani actors to exit India amidst escalating tensions between the two nations. Amey Khopkar of MNS Chitrapat Sena stated, “We give a 48-hour deadline to Pakistani actors and artists to leave India or MNS will push them out.”
Prominent actors like Fawad Khan, Ali Zafar, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Imran Abbas, and Mawra Hocane, alongside Mahira Khan, had made India their second home before the political turmoil. These events transpired during a period of heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, with India holding Pakistan responsible for a terrorist attack that claimed the lives of 18 Army personnel in Uri, Kashmir.
On the professional front, Mahira Khan‘s recent work includes starring alongside her frequent collaborator Fawad Khan in the Pakistani blockbuster “The Legend of Maula Jatt.” The dynamic duo is set to grace our screens once again in an upcoming Netflix series, “Jo Bachay Hain Sang Samait Lo,” featuring Sanam Saeed.
Mahira’s illustrious career spans across several Pakistani movies and shows, including ‘Bol,’ ‘Bin Roye,’ ‘Manto,’ and others. However, her claim to fame remains the immensely successful drama series ‘Humsafar,’ where she starred alongside Fawad Khan, a show that has left an indelible mark on the hearts of viewers worldwide.
The marriage of Mahira Khan and Salim Karim marks a new chapter in the actress’s life, and fans eagerly await what the future holds for the beloved star and her businessman husband.
