Salman Khan’s latest action-thriller, “Tiger 3,” has made an impressive mark at the box office within days of its release, setting records and charting a formidable course in the entertainment industry. The film, part of the acclaimed YRF Spy Universe, shattered expectations with its extraordinary performance, cementing its place as one of the most talked-about releases in recent times.
On its third day in theaters, “Tiger 3” continued its triumphant streak by amassing an estimated Rs 42 crore, escalating its total domestic earnings to a staggering Rs 146 crore, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. This remarkable feat marks Salman Khan’s 17th movie to cross the Rs 100 crore nett milestone, showcasing the star’s consistent box office prowess.
The movie commenced its theatrical journey with an unconventional Sunday release, coinciding with the festive Diwali season, raking in Rs 44 crore on its opening day. Demonstrating remarkable growth, the film surged to a remarkable Rs 58 crore on its second day, catapulting its global earnings beyond Rs 220 crore. Such rapid advancement positions “Tiger 3” on a trajectory to surpass the decade-old global gross of Rs 330 crore set by “Ek Tha Tiger.”

However, regional variations in audience reception have been observed, notably in South Indian territories. While Hindi-language occupancy stood at a solid 33%, the dubbed Tamil and Telugu versions witnessed occupancy rates below 20%. This contrasts with the immense popularity of Shah Rukh Khan’s 2023 hits, “Pathaan” and “Jawan,” which concluded their global runs amassing over Rs 1000 crore each, a milestone that Salman Khan is on the brink of achieving.
Despite the impressive performance, “Tiger 3” faces the challenge of surpassing the colossal global gross of Rs 565 crore achieved by its predecessor, “Tiger Zinda Hai.” Salman Khan’s highest-grossing film to date remains “Bajrangi Bhaijaan,” which earned over Rs 900 crore worldwide. As “Tiger 3” aims to outshine “War’s” Rs 475 crore global gross, the stage is set for a fiercely competitive run at the box office.
Directed by Maneesh Sharma and featuring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif in lead roles, “Tiger 3” marks the fifth installment in YRF’s interconnected universe of spy films, setting the stage for a promising future. Notably, both Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan made cameo appearances, teasing future crossovers and installments in the franchise. With “War 2” in production under Ayan Mukerji’s direction and tantalizing hints of a “Tiger vs Pathaan” film directed by Siddharth Anand, the YRF Spy Universe promises exhilarating cinematic experiences ahead.
