MUMBAI, Tuesday, March 10, 2026: The “Dhurandhar” fever hasn’t just returned; it’s reached a boiling point. With eight days still on the clock before Aditya Dhar’s spy thriller Dhurandhar: The Revenge officially storms theaters, the Indian box office is witnessing an unprecedented surge in “paid preview” demand that defies traditional pricing logic.
While the wide release is slated for March 19, select screens across the nation will open their doors on the evening of March 18. Despite ticket prices soaring into the stratosphere, the “Sold Out” signs are already going up.
The Luxury Premium: Recliners at a Record High for Dhurandhar 2
In the metropolitan hubs, watching Ranveer Singh’s return as an Indian operative in Pakistan is coming at a premium. Regular format tickets in major cities are hovering between ₹600 and ₹900, while IMAX enthusiasts are shelling out over ₹1000 per seat.
The real shocker, however, lies in the luxury segment. At the INOX Megaplex in Borivali, Mumbai, a single recliner seat for the Dhurandhar 2 preview is priced at a staggering ₹3100. Delhi isn’t far behind, with PVR Select City Walk listing recliners at ₹2400. Surprisingly, these “astronomical” price points haven’t deterred fans; most premium shows are either at capacity or nearing a total sell-out.
The Math Behind the Dhurandhar 2 Madness
The numbers tell a story of massive commercial confidence. The average ticket price for the original Hindi version sits at ₹418, nearly double the industry standard. Those opting for the DOLBY CINE experience are looking at an average of ₹759.
While the Kannada and Telugu dubbed versions are also trending high, Tamil Nadu remains the outlier. Thanks to state-mandated price caps, the Tamil dub is maintaining a viewer-friendly average of ₹166.
The momentum is already smashing records. As of today, Dhurandhar 2 has:
- Sold nearly 3 lakh tickets in advance.
- Amassed over ₹15 crore in domestic gross, eight days before the first curtain rises.
This performance marks the highest-grossing premiere ever for a Bollywood title. Trade analysts are now watching closely to see if it can topple the all-time pan-India record of ₹25 crore currently held by Pawan Kalyan’s OG.
Following the colossal success of Part 1, which raked in ₹1300 crore globally, the sequel carries a heavy burden of expectation. With a powerhouse cast including R. Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, and Arjun Rampal, the stage is set for what could be the biggest cinematic event of the year.
