Bollywood, November 4, 2026: Singer Kanika Kapoor’s personal life has taken an unexpected turn. The singer, who shot to fame with her chartbuster Baby Doll, has announced her separation from husband Gautam Hathiramani, bringing an end to their four-year marriage.
Kanika shared the news through an Instagram Story, confirming that the couple had decided to go their separate ways after much thought and consideration.
“Dear friends and family, after much thought and consideration, my husband and I are going our separate ways. I am grateful for the time we shared and wish him well for the future. I sincerely ask for kindness and respect for our privacy as we move forward,” she wrote.
This marks Kanika Kapoor‘s second marriage separation. Before marrying Gautam, the singer was married to businessman Raj Chandok. The two tied the knot in 1998, when Kanika was just 18 years old. Following their marriage, she moved to London, where she spent several years raising their three children – daughters Aayana and Samara, and son Yuvraaj.
However, after 14 years of marriage, Kanika and Raj parted ways in 2012. Following their separation, she returned to India to pursue her career in music.

Kanika and Gautam’s relationship had a long history before they eventually got married. The singer had previously revealed that she had known him for nearly 15 years and that the two were close friends before their friendship turned romantic.
In an earlier interview, Kanika shared that she had asked Gautam to marry her twice – first in 2014 and then again in 2020. Gautam eventually proposed to her in August 2021. The couple tied the knot on May 20, 2022, in London, in an intimate yet lavish ceremony attended by close friends and family.
Kanika became a household name in 2014 with Baby Doll from Sunny Leone’s film Ragini MMS 2. Composed by Meet Bros, the song became an instant chartbuster and established her as a popular playback singer.
She followed it up with several successful tracks, including Lovely from Happy New Year, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone. Her other popular songs include Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan from Roy, Desi Look from Ek Paheli Leela, Nachan Farrate from All Is Well and Da Da Dasse from Udta Punjab.
