Covid19 PM Relief Fund: Anushka Sharma, Virat Kohli Open Their Big Purse; The fight for containing the corona virus outbreak in India intensified after the PM call for a nation wide support. Starting with the Janata Curfew and then the complete lock down call.
Soon after the lock down call, the Prime Minister called the nation and his people to generously donate what ever they can towards the PM Relief fund to ensure that those who deserve support during this challenging time get support.
The celebrity couple Virat and Anukshka Sharma, in their post said “Virat and I are pledging our support towards PM-CARES Fund & the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (Maharashtra). Our hearts are breaking looking at the suffering of so many & we hope our contribution, in some way, helps easing the pain of our fellow citizens #IndiaFightsCorona,” tweeted Anushka Sharma.
A source in the industry reportedly told an agency that the couple had donated Rs.3Cr.
Simultenously, the cricketer husband of Anushka Sharma posted “Anushka and I are pledging our support towards PM-CARES Fund & the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (Maharashtra). Earlier, Akshay Kumar had donated Rs.25 Cr towards PM Relief Fund. Other celebs like Varun Dhawan donated Rs. 30 lakhs, Bhushan Kumar gave away 11 Cr and Murad Khetani- Rs 25 Lakh.
