Its’ official, Jawan is the title of Shah Rukh Khan Atlee Bollywood project. Following a flurry of speculations and curiosity about the title of Shah Rukh Khan-Atlee’s project, it has now been revealed that the title is Jawan.
The film marks the debut of the young filmmaker in Bollywood. Atlee shared the film’s title announcement video on Twitter, along with a short emotional letter.
He tweeted, “Feeling emotional, excited & blessed. Grew up admiring you but never imagined that I would be directing you sir. @iamsrk & I proudly present to you #Jawan (sic).” The news of SRK and Atlee joining hands surfaced on the internet before the release of his last outing Bigil (streaming on Amazon Prime Video) which was released in 2019.
For a long time, fans of SRK, Atlee, and even Vijay have been waiting for the project’s title to be revealed. Jawan, touted as a revenge thriller, will be released in theatres on June 2, 2023 in numerous languages.
Nayanthara, the film’s female star, makes her Bollywood debut as well. Atlee has been praised by personalities in the Tamil film industry since the formal announcement of the film.

Actor Prasanna was one of the first from Kollywood to react to the announcement. He tweeted “congrats bro” from his Twitter page while music director Dhibu Ninan Thomas posted a heart emoji. Director Mohan Raja’s tweet read, “Superb. Best wishes brother @Atlee_dir Rock it (sic).”
In his tweet, Sivakarthikeyan said that he is happy to see Atlee directing King Khan, while Varalaxmi posted, “Wooohoooo can’t wait (sic).” Producer Archana Kalpathi, who bankrolled Atlee’s Bigil, comedian Sathish, director Cibi Chakaravarthi and singer-composer Santhosh Dhayanidhi are a few others who took to their Twitter pages to congratulate the filmmaker for presenting SRK in a stylish, but menacing avatar.
One user wrote that the video had ‘goosebumps written all over it’, and talked about how fierce Khan looked. “Everyone is a gangster until the real gangster arrives,” wrote another, sharing a few stills of Khan from the teaser.

Suffice to say, the teaser definitely got expectations among fans high when it came to the film, and many talked about how they couldn’t wait to see the film. One user wrote about how ‘promising’ and ‘different’ Khan’s upcoming films looked, saying that a break seemed to have done him good. Another talked about how they have seen the teaser multiple times.
