Dasara Review: A shining first half, second half drags a bit
Dasara’s heart and soul is embodied by none other than Nani himself. The skilled actor manages to hit the ball out of the park with his superb performance, which undoubtedly ranks among his finest work. Moreover, Sharad Kelkar’s unique voice for Nani in the Hindi version adds an extra layer of power and intensity to the character, making it even more compelling to watch.
Keerthy Suresh shines in her role, and Shine Tom Chacko – the antagonist – is impressive, conveying so much through his eyes, and Dheekshith Shetty excels in a strong crafted character.
While Dasara is undoubtedly an enthralling revenge saga with a captivating screenplay, it could benefit from shortening the second hour to further elevate its entertainment quotient. Removing a song or two would not only enhance the film’s pacing but also add more weight to the intense and thrilling narrative. Nevertheless, it is still a must-watch film that showcases superior performances and leaves a hammer-strong impact on its audience.
Nani’s action-packed film, Dasara, is making waves at the box office. The movie has been earning positive reviews from audiences and is gaining momentum through word of mouth. The film had a strong global opening of Rs 38 crore (gross) and continued to perform well at the box office on Friday, maintaining its momentum.
Review by a cinema guy – Director tried to mix many aspects of society such as triangular love story, casteism, lust, alcoholism, friendship, local politics etc etc in one movie. It’s a bold attempt, i accept. However, the narration in the second half diverted to a very slow paced melodrama and will make you feel to wait for the climax. Once you enter climax fight, you feel to thank the director for bringing the climax atleast then. But the climax fight goes on and on and on to test your patience, and finally the movie end up soon.
As per the industry tracker Sacnilk, Dasara had a nett earning of Rs 12 crore (early estimates) on its second day of release. It got an overall occupancy of 36% in the Telugu-speaking regions. Not just in the domestic market, the film has found takers in the international arena as well. The makers of the film shared that Dasara has hit the 1 million mark in the US.
The Telugu film has been dubbed in Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada as well. Besides Nani, the film stars Keerthy Suresh, Samuthirakani, Dheekshith Shetty, Shine Tom Chacko, and Sai Kumar in pivotal roles.
