Hyderabad, December 22, 2024 — Amid fresh allegations following the tragic events during the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule at Sandhya Theatre, Allu Arjun has issued a public appeal to his fans, urging them to refrain from engaging in problematic behaviour. The actor’s call for responsibility comes after Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi raised concerns about his reaction to a stampede incident during the premiere.

In a statement released on Sunday, Allu Arjun addressed his followers on X (formerly Twitter), urging them to express their opinions responsibly. He stated, “I appeal to all my fans to express their feelings responsibly, as always and not resort to any kind of abusive language or behaviour both online and offline.” The actor also warned that any misrepresentation of his fanbase with fake profiles or abusive posts would lead to stern legal consequences. “Misrepresenting as my fans with fake IDs and fake profiles, if someone indulges in abusive posts, strong action will be taken against them. I request the fans not to engage with such posts,” Arjun added.

Allu Arjun Urges Responsible Behaviour After Pushpa 2 Stampede Controversy

This statement comes on the heels of a day of controversy when CM Revanth and MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi raised the issue in the Telangana assembly. They alleged that Allu Arjun had callously remarked that the film would be a success upon learning about the death of a fan in the stampede. Revanth also claimed that the police had informed him of the tragic death while he was still at the theatre. However, Allu Arjun refuted these claims, stating that he only learned about the incident the following day, December 5.

The actor’s statements also followed a press conference on Saturday, where he vehemently denied the allegations against him. He called the accusations “false” and described them as a form of “character assassination.” Arjun insisted that he had adhered to all police instructions and was merely following guidance provided to him by the authorities and theatre management. “I would have followed any instructions to return if they had been given,” he said.

The incident took place on December 4 during the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule. Arjun attended the event with his family and co-star Rashmika Mandanna. According to the actor, he left the theatre early when his management informed him that the crowd was becoming uncontrollable. Despite his early departure, a stampede ensued, resulting in the tragic death of a woman and the hospitalization of her son in critical condition. The police have maintained that Arjun’s visit was not officially sanctioned, while the actor has countered that the theatre management had specifically requested his presence.

As the controversy continues to unfold, Allu Arjun remains adamant that he was not responsible for the tragic events and has called for a focus on the truth rather than misinformation.
