The film’s rapid rise outpaces last year’s hits such as Stree 2, which took two weeks to hit Rs 441.4 crore, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which reached Rs 216 crore in the same timeframe. Vicky Kaushal’s new outing impressive pace and strong hold on the box office have set new benchmarks for Bollywood.

The film, which tells a gripping tale of bravery, history, and sacrifice, has become the talk of the town. Directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhaava features a star-studded ensemble cast, including Rashmika Mandanna, Akshaye Khanna, and Ashutosh Rana, alongside Kaushal. Industry leaders are praising the film’s success. Gautam Dutta, CEO of PVR Inox, emphasized that Kaushal movie has brought much-needed revitalization to cinema halls after a slow January. Weekday occupancy rates remain strong, averaging 35%.

Nitin Menon of NV Capital believes that the movie continued performance could give Bollywood the momentum it needs to recover and thrive in 2025. Film trade expert Girish Johar highlighted Maharashtra as a key contributor, with multiplexes in Delhi also delivering stellar numbers.

Though Monday saw a slight dip with Rs 24 crore, Chhaava quickly bounced back, collecting Rs 25.25 crore on Tuesday. Wednesday, which coincided with Shivaji Jayanti, saw a further surge in collections, hitting Rs 32 crore. The week wrapped up with a slight decline on Thursday, adding Rs 21.5 crore to its already impressive total.

As of now, The movie has surpassed Vicky Kaushal’s previous record set by Uri: The Surgical Strike, emerging as his highest-grossing film to date. With the film’s continued momentum, Chhaava is poised to enter the elite Rs 300 crore club, marking Kaushal’s first-ever film to reach this milestone as a lead actor.
