Saif Ali Khan the Tanhaji star makes a huge comeback in the next big film of Prabhas ‘Adipurush’. He will be the Lankesh in Om Prakash movie ‘Adipurush’. Taking to Instagram, the ‘Rebel Star’ of Indian cinema broke the news with a poster where a 10-headed Ravana can be seen in the sky and Lord Rama pointing his arrow towards it. He wrote in the post “7000 years ago existed the world’s most intelligent demon! #Adipurush”
While the 50-year-old actor will be playing the antagonist’s role of Lankesh in ‘Adipurush’, Prabhas will be seen Lord Rama. Directed by ‘Tanhaji’ fame Om Raut, the big-budget project is a 3D action drama which will be helmed as a Telugu-Hindi bilingual with dubbed versions in other south Indian languages. In 2019, Saif played the role of Udaybhan Singh Rathore in Om Raut’s previous directorial Tanhaji.
Sharing his excitement to share the screen with the Nawab, Prabhas said “I am super excited to work with Saif Ali Khan and I am eager to share screen space with a great actor.”
On his casting as Lankesh in Adipurush, Saif said “I’m thrilled to be working with Omi dada again! He has a grand vision and the technical knowledge to pull it off. He has taken me beyond the cutting edge of our cinema in the way he shot Tanhaji and this time, he is taking us all further. I look forward to clashing swords with the mighty Prabhas and play a role that is electrifying and demonic.”
Prabhas has started working on his body and has been learning archery. Talking about casting the ‘Baahubali’ star for the role, Om Raut said “Prabhas was the obvious choice for the role. I believe he is at the right point to do the role. His eyes, his stance fits perfectly into Adipurush’s description. There is nobody else who can do the role. He is working on his physique right now. Adipurush is an ace archer and he has a great body. So the actor is aiming for the physique of an archer.”
Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar under T-Series are producing the magnum opus, Adipurush which is an adaptation of the Indian epic that revolves around the triumph of good over evil. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Ram is also addressed as Adi Purusha. Currently in the pre-production stage, the film will go on floors on 2021 and hit the theaters in 2022
