The Story of Jubilee
the story
The series draws inspiration from the lives of Himanshu Rai and Devika Rani, who were considered the first power couple of Indian cinema. The protagonist of the show, Srikant Roy, is portrayed by the popular Bengali actor Prosenjit Chatterjee, who plays the role of a shrewd businessman and filmmaker who heads the studio Roy Talkies. Srikant is determined to find a new face for his next movie, which his wife Sumitra Devi (played by Aditi Rao Hydari), who is also a co-owner of Roy Talkies, will star in. After conducting several auditions, Srikant selects Jehangir Khan (Nandish Singh Sandhu) as the male lead, despite the fact that he is having an affair with Sumitra Devi in Lucknow. The two plan to flee to Karachi, where Jehangir wants to pursue his passion for theater.
Jubilee, which is set during the time of the partition, is a tribute to the passion for films, as suggested by its name. The initial episode of the series introduces Srikant Roy (played by Prosenjit Chatterjee), who is the owner of a film studio and is searching for a fresh face to cast in his upcoming movie. He eventually selects Jamshed Khan (Nandish Singh Sandhu) for the role of Madan Kumar, but this decision is only one of many unexpected turns in the plot. The path to triumph is laden with numerous challenges and difficulties.
