OTT Releases 2020: Kangana Ranaut’s super hit Hindi film Queen, which is remade in four southern languages, according to sources are readying for direct-to-OTT release. Queen is a story of ignorant Delhi girl who finds herself on a ‘honeymoon’ all by herself. What happens along the way forms the crux of this sweet, sensitive, fun social drama.

OTT Releases 2020: Hit Kangana Movie Queen remade in South, with Kajal, Tamannaah, Manjima and Parul Yadav in the titular role will have a PrimeVideo release?

Kajal Aggarwal is playing the titular role in the Tamil version, which has been titled Paris Paris. On the other hand Tamannaah Bhatia plays the lead role in the Telugu version of the remake, which is titled That Is Mahalakshmi. The Kannada version has been titled Buttery and stars Parul Yadav. Manjima Mohan features in the titular role in the Malayalam version of the film, which has been titled Zam Zam.

As per the report, all the four versions of the movie are most likely to release on Amazon Prime soon. The films which were completed long back have been lying in the cans for a long time.

Both Kajal Aggarwal and Tamannaah Bhatia have pinned high hopes on these projects. On signing the project, Tamannaah had said in a media interaction that the original Queen will be recreated in its Telugu version. “It’s an exciting project and I love doing roles that talk about women empowerment. I’m confident we can recreate the magic of the original.

In the original Hindi film Kangana Ranaut’s performance has been appreciated as outstanding. Whether she’s crestfallen or ecstatic, selling golgappas or naively buying sex-toys, hiding her infatuation for an Italian restaurateur or showing deep dejection about her wimpy beau Vijya (Rajkummar Rao), she’s was a class act.

The south Indian versions of the Queen project had many hurdles initially, Tamannah Bhatia was supposed to take up the role. It was later said that Amala Paul would be doing the film, however, in a previous interview with indianexpress.com Amala had said that though she was approached for the film, they couldn’t match dates. Finally, Kajal Aggarwal is essaying the role of a timid girl, who sets out to explore the world and in turn, finds herself!
