ZEE5 Arivaan Review – An Absorbing Tamil Crime Thriller Series is Worth Binging
ZEE5 Arivaan is amongst the best Tamil web series, that is streaming on the OTT Platform. It is engaging and has all the elements of being a thriller to the core. It is also a nice emotional couple story.
The web series: exposé story is a Singaporean Tamil international crime suspense thriller from D. Velmurugan and Kumaran Sundaram, revolves around two police officers Hari and Deva, and a psycho killer.
The Story
Arivaan : The Revelation, starring Jabu Deen Faruk, James Kumar and Gayathri Segaran. The story revolves around Hari, a retired police officer, who teams up with his estranged god brother, Deva, in order to nab a serial killer. Witness an action packed thriller drama, as the duo unearth a shocking truth on their mission.
Characters in the Arivaan : Hari is a retired police officer, who is suffering from health-related issues, undergoing treatment. Banumathi is a nurse and ex-wife of Hari. Deva is Hari’s old-time buddy and is currently investigating a missing girl case. Akhila is an abducted victim, suffering from a post-traumatic stress disorder and the last victim of the psycho killer in the past.
The thriller revolves around Shalini Devi, a 21-year-old girl who goes missing. Her parent’s effort to reach her through a live TV program brings shocks, everyone. Several years later, the killer is back.
What makes the episodes binge worthy are the way the story unfolds with many questions unfolding as we keep viewing the drama- Will the police trace him out and rescue the kidnapped girl? What happened to Hari? Why Hari and Banu broke up? Will Hari and Deva team up to nab the psycho killer?
Arivaan Review : It is a series that succeeds in keeping you hooked to the TV from the beginning and as the story unfolds. The director has done well to establish the character of Banumathi and Hari quite well and their introduction is well filmed. Bhanumathi’s crush towards Hari is poetically portrayed. The director’s narrative is engaging and he succeeds in keeping the audience guessing why they broke up and about Hari’s present condition.

The live TV show scene elevates the interest in the series. Akhila’s description of her traumatic incident sends shockwaves, and it is traumatizing. Udaya Sundari’s performance is applaudable. The introduction of each of the characters in the web series is praiseworthy, including the scenes when Deva reaches the railway bridge. The script and Cinematography are tight and do not waver from the narrative.
The only drawback is the sound editing, and sound recording, the audio is quite poor and one has to raise the volume to the maximum to get the best out of the dialogues and background effect.
Jabudeen Faruk looks savvy as a police officer with stern looks. James Kumar had deep dived into the role of Deva. Gayathri Segaran too does well in the role of Banumathi. The story told on a non-linear style, have captured the looks of the past, and presented fantastically.
Arivaan web series is loaded with full of suspense, unexpected twists, and tales. It’s definitely worth a watch.
