November 4, 2025: The first look of Shah Rukh Khan’s much-anticipated film King was unveiled on his 60th birthday, and social media quickly picked up on something familiar. Many users pointed out that SRK’s rugged appearance in a blue shirt and tan jacket resembled Brad Pitt’s look from his upcoming F1 film. The debate soon spiraled online, with fans split between calling it “inspiration” or “copying.”
Social Media Buzz Over Similar Looks
Soon after the teaser reveal, side-by-side comparisons flooded X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram. Both stars’ outfits — casual yet edgy — prompted discussions about Bollywood’s supposed tendency to borrow visual cues from Hollywood.
Some users defended the resemblance as coincidental, while others reignited the long-standing “Bollywood lacks originality” argument.
Siddharth Anand Breaks His Silence over SRK King Look
Director Siddharth Anand, known for films like Pathaan and Fighter, responded to the online chatter through a fan post defending Bollywood.
The viral post read:
“Funny logic by haters these days. If Bollywood movie has — Fighter Jet: Copy of Top Gun, Ship: Copy of Titanic, Same dress code: Copy of F1, Orange Dress: Anti-Hindu. Their IQ level is buffering since 1947.”
The collage attached to the post showed Shah Rukh in a similar outfit from his 2017 film Jab Harry Met Sejal, Brad Pitt in F1, and the new still from King. Anand replied with laughing emojis and the “OK” hand sign, seemingly agreeing with the sentiment.
SRK on His ‘Dark’ New Role
At a recent fan event, Shah Rukh opened up about his character in King, calling it one of his most complex roles yet.
“The character in King is very interesting. Siddharth and Sujoy (Ghosh) have written it with a lot of love. He’s dark, violent, and doesn’t think twice before killing,” SRK said, describing the role as a layered anti-hero.
